Full Pink Moon

Full Pink Moon RisingImage by TomRaven via FlickrApril full moon’s herald the appearance of the moss pink, or wild ground phlox—one of the first spring flowers. It is also known as the Sprouting Grass Moon, the Egg Moon, and the Fish Moon.
Makes me want to go outside and look around, make camp and sing.

Did you gather on the new moon to bring alive the dreams and wishes that you sit with??

It’s time to sing stories into life and it’s time to release the old. Always much to release as it leaves bit by bit but the excitement of the new stories, the stories of freshness and making the old new again can be yours.

Spring clean the soul ...

Everyday is cause for celebration!

“Wild Self”

' I love to hear the rhythms of my heartbeat…to hear the gravel crunch beneath my feet... to smell the aroma of endless sage…to be enchanted by the sheer expansiveness of the playa … I love when nature’s lights go out and I hear coyotes yelp and desert winds ruffle … to spend my nights under the milky way, stargazing myself to sleep ... – Gino Dante Borges, ph.d.

wild self

I just LOVE this picture and the quote from Dr. Gino Dante Borges from the show “The Wild Self” …………………………………. I don’t often watch the show but I do follow the adventures on Facebook. They are having an interaction with their audience and although the contest part of it is a bit cheesy, I didn’t want to just use the picture and quote and not share their purpose. From their FB page they write the following:

i love to hear the rhythms of my heartbeat…to hear the gravel crunch beneath my feet... to smell the aroma of endless sage…to be enchanted by the sheer expansiveness of the playa… i love when nature’s lights go out and i hear coyotes yelp and desert winds ruffle… to spend my nights under the milky way, stargazing myself to sleep... to me, that's the wild self lifestyle' - gino dante borges, ph.d.

Paths … winding, wondrous

winding pathImage by nicpic via FlickrMy presence was not planned, it was born of unbridled change occurring in a moments time.Note… And I was thinking to myself, 'This could be Heaven or this could be Hell'
But I wonder Note…and still those voices are calling from far away, wakes you up in the middle of the night”

It’s all really new and different and who would have thought the path to be thirty-five years from one end of a street to the other. It kept coming back to me in moments of time … my path forcing me back to a place I chose to leave so long ago. Thinking it would show itself like a hairy beast, then be on it’s way so I could find my way back to my soul’s home. Is this a bigger message. One that has nothing to do with home but with purpose, could it be Note…we are all just prisoners here of our own devise”
But indeed, I started the journey of WISE when I was 17 and fresh-faced at an internship on Old Tarrytown Road and 35 years later pick up the journey again less than one minute up the road at the other end of Old Tarrytown Road for a different but just as purposeful chapter of WISE.

Who threw the bones, what is the medicine, where are the messengers … I wait! And wonder what will be Note… 'Relax,' said the night man, ‘We are programmed to receive. You can check-out any time you like,  But you can never leave!'

Mmmmm …. yes!

dancing under the rainbowImage by Mara ~earth light~ via FlickrMy good friend Nancy shared this with me today and although I was familiar with Maya Angelou’s work I had not the opportunity to read this beauty.

My ladies … Enjoy!

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ...
*
enough money within her control to move out
and rent a place of her own,
even if she never wants to or needs to...
something perfect to wear if the employer,
or date of her dreams wants to see her in an hour...
*
**A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ..
*
a youth she's content to leave behind....
a past juicy enough that she's looking forward to
retelling it in her old age....
a set of screwdrivers, a cordless drill, and a black lace bra...
one friend who always makes her laugh... and one who lets her cry...
*
A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE .......
*
a good piece of furniture not previously owned by anyone else in her
family...
eight matching plates, wine glasses with stems, (ok for some of us…coffee
mugs)J
and a recipe for a meal,
that will make her guests feel honored...
*
**
A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ..
*
a feeling of control over her destiny...
how to fall in love without losing herself..
*
EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
*
how to quit a job,
break up with a lover,
and confront a friend without;
ruining the friendship....
*
**EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW....
*
when to try harder... and *WHEN TO WALK AWAY...
**
EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
*
that she can't change the length of her calves,
the width of her hips, or the nature of her parents..
that her childhood may not have been perfect...but it's over...
*
**
EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
*
what she would and wouldn't do for love or more...
how to live alone... even if she doesn't like it...
*
EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW.. .
*
whom she can trust,
whom she can't,
and why she shouldn't take it personally...
*
EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...**
*
where to go...
be it to her best friend's kitchen table..
or a charming Inn in the woods...
when her soul needs soothing...
*
EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
*
What she can and can't accomplish in a day...
a month...and a year...

Being a “Dirty Girl” ….

It’s funny how connections are made. I guess I have to say, I love how connections are made. A couple weeks back, a friend on Facebook mentioned a small and native owned business in Broken Bow, Oklahoma that made wonderful handmade soaps. I have been trying to limit my use of the commercially produced products that big corporations saturate the market with and hope to use only sustainably created products. It’s not easy but it can be done and of course economically, it’s important to support small business.
I had been looking for a new soap that would not dry my skin and was curious if they also sold Lotion Bars after being turned on to the bars by the fabulous Aquarian Bath from whom I won an almost mouth watering chocolate scented lotion bar back in February when I entered a poetry contest at Poppy Swap
Aquarian Bath also has the goods if you are interested in making your own lotion bar. Great selection of goodies.

The company my friend was talking about is called Dirty Girl Soaps and how can you not love that name!
I ordered the Gypsy Rose Soap which is so luxurious, you’ll never want to leave the bath. It is naturally made of Olive Oil, Coconut Oil, Water, Organic Palm Oil, Soy Oil, Fresh Goat Milk, Sunflower Oil, Shea Butter, and a proprietary blend of essential oils. Delicious!!!
I also ordered the Champaca & Bamboo Lotion Bar … the scent is heavenly! It is also made naturally with Organic oils of: Sweet Almond Oil, Cocoa Butter, Shea Butter, natural vitamin e, essential oil blend, makeup grade Mica. I am sold on lotion bars and don’t think I will ever buy a liquid lotion again.
As small businesses often do, they sent me a sample of my choice. I chose a sample of Dirty Harry for my boy to try out. It’s a manly man scent of bay rum and the boy gives it a thumbs up!!
Theses wonderfully pampering goodies are all natural products, ‘biodegradable, cruelty free, minimally packaged, and do not contain unnatural preservatives, petroleum or other harmful chemicals.’
Isn’t that the way to live naturally and as wildly as you can.
